“Emerging Voices” is a program developed in 2001 by YAF Atlanta. This program provides a forum to highlight architectural practices in the Metro Atlanta area that might not otherwise be presented to the public and architectural community. Following the AIA definition of a ‘Young Architect’, the competition is open to architects who have been registered for 10 years or less, intern architects, and firms whose principal owners meet the above criteria.

A special thanks goes out to the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) who will showcase the Emerging Voices 2009. The opening show will be September 25th at 7pm. On display will be the masterful design work from the winning entries of bldgs, Rutledge Alcock Architects and Nodus.

Emerging Voices has established a record of accomplishment among architects in Atlanta as the singular, local competition that identifies a bright new spot on the metropolitan design scene. We hope you’ll join us for this year’s event at MODA! See more info on our website.

YAF says thank you to their sponsors with the addition of Gallet Associates, 3Forum, Siematic, SCIC and Rutledge Alcock.

Project Purpose:
This is the 2nd Annual 48hr Design Competition. The purpose of this competition is to provide a venue for designers and architects to showcase their ability by responding in a brief time period to pertinent and pressing design issues facing our city, and to illustrate the value of good design to the Greater Public. All participants’ entries will be displayed for public viewing in a separate gallery space at Museum of Design Atlanta. MODA, a Smithsonian Institution affiliate, is the only museum in the southeast solely devoted to design.
